Petron’s approach captures and purifies raw biogenic CO₂, a co-product of biorefinery operations, and combines it with green hydrogen, supplied either through partner electrolyzer technology or our proprietary ethanol-to-hydrogen conversion process (currently under development), to synthesize e-methanol. This integration converts an otherwise underutilized biogenic carbon stream into one of the market’s highest-demand platform chemicals, supporting a deeper and more scalable route to decarbonization.
Petron’s solution & differentiators
A systems approach that couples green-hydrogen integration with biogenic CO₂ to produce e-methanol, produced with partner technologies as part of the integrated offering (process diagram below).
Applicable feedstocks & products
Green hydrogen and biogenic CO₂ (with integration to our Biorefinery building block) into e-methanol.
Commercial maturity
Commercially available through Petron’s co-development partnerships, integrated with the wider biorefinery platform.
