GAIL and Petron sign MoU to explore a bio-ethylene plant in India

GAIL (India) Limited and Petron Scientech signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore setting up a bio-ethylene plant in India.

The collaboration would apply Petron’s renewable-ethylene technology to produce bio-based ethylene from ethanol, a drop-in, fossil-free building block for India’s growing polymer and petrochemical value chains.

The MoU marks an important step in bringing Petron’s licensable biorefinery technologies to one of the world’s fastest-growing renewable-chemicals markets.
