Petron's ethanol-to-hydrogen technology is being developed to convert renewable ethanol into a hydrogen-rich gas, followed by purification to deliver hydrogen for industrial and chemical applications.
The solution is intended to provide an alternative hydrogen pathway for biorefineries and industrial sites with ethanol availability, particularly where renewable-power availability, grid capacity, or hydrogen logistics constrain electrolytic-hydrogen deployment.
Development work focuses on reforming performance, hydrogen recovery and purity, heat integration, utility optimization, CO₂ management, and integration with ethanol-production assets.
Target clients: Biorefineries, chemical producers, ammonia and e-fuel developers, and industrial hydrogen users.
