Biorefineries as complete solution (Ethanol and derivatives)

Ethanol from agricultural crops (mainly Corn (Maize) and Sugar cane) and Biomass (sugar cane Bagasse, Corn cob/ Stover, wood and agriculture waste such Rice and wheat stubble, husk, bran) has been mandated in all major countries around the world as additive to reduce carbon and particulate emission, clean combustion and Octane boosting to replace cancer causing aromatic. It also finds application in health care, pharmaceutical and beverage industry.

PSI along with its technology partners offers full technology for biorefineries including production of Ethanol, Biodiesel, renewable Gasoline, Diesel, Jet fuel, Iso Octane, Iso butanol, Isobutylene, bio Propylene, butene and pure Lignin, Corn oil and high protein animal food (DDGS) and Pet food.

Also, additional technologies from Ethanol to higher Alcohols (n-Butanol, Octanols, Butadiene are in development.

Biomass to pure Green Hydrogen (Negative Carbon, Low Energy process)

Petron’s proprietary & energy efficient, Cellulosic Ethanol (G2.0E) technology from a variety of locally available agriculture/forestry residuals (wastes) and woody biomass, integrated with production of Green Hydrogen using SBI’s proprietary, energy efficient technology, Gölu-H2, for commercial production of low-carbon, high purity Hydrogen to decarbonize transportation, electricity generation, industrial/residential heating, and industrial Hydrogen applications. This Hydrogen is suitable for fueling Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles including buses, trucks, and trains, decentralizing power generation using fuel cells, commercial power generation by blending with Natural Gas (NG), production of Renewable Low Carbon Sustainable Fuel (LCSF), and for production of Green Ammonia/Urea and other valuable products.

Globally over 70 million Metric Tons (MMT) of Hydrogen are consumed annually, over 95% of which is generated using fossil natural gas (NG) with its high carbon footprint. NG Hydrogen negatively impacts the environment by introducing over 830MMT new GHG emissions per year. Green Hydrogen is an alternative fuel in great demand worldwide and is capable of significant GHG reductions for combating the climate change crisis.

Together, PSI & SBI’s technologies are an efficient and integrated solution for the conversion of local agriculture biomass and forestry wood residuals/wastes into Green Hydrogen and Low Carbon biofuels worldwide. The CO2 produced from the G2.0 Ethanol and Gölu-H2 Hydrogen processes will be Carbon Captured & Sequestered (CCS), upgraded for beverage/food applications, used for industrial products, and/or enhanced oil recovery applications. While the combination of PSI and SBI’s technologies inherently result in net negative carbon products, CCS integration will provide further carbon reduction.

bio Ethylene (Ethylene from Ethanol), Propylene from Propanol and Butene from Butanol

Ethylene is at the heart of a global, a trillion-dollar petrochemical and plastics industry. Petron’s renewable Ethanol based, bio Ethylene enables a wide variety of ‘green’ end-uses such as polyethylene for 'green' food packaging and a variety of consumer and industrial applications. Petron’s process can convert the bio Ethylene into bio Ethylene Oxide and the family of Ethylene Glycols. The most important of which is bio Mono Ethylene Glycol (bio MEG) which is the feed-stock for PET, the core plastic resin for making beverage and food packaging, textiles, polyester fiber and engine coolants, PVC (applications such as pipes), and styrene & polystyrene and other applications, PVA (glues), health care applications, home care and many other day-to-day uses. Other co-products from Petron’s process include bio DEG and bio TEG which also have useful industrial applications in natural gas (Shale) drying, humectants and other applications. Bio ethylene is also used in making aviation jet fuel (ATJ) and production of bio Propylene and Butene.

Petron's technology has been independently acknowledged as the most energy efficient and cost-effective solution available to manufacture Ethylene from renewable Ethanol. It also has a lower capital cost than alternatives and provides a lower operational cost by consuming far less energy and providing higher selectivity. Importantly, Petron has built many of the most recent industrial scale plants based on its technology and know-how.

Like Ethylene, Petron offer full patented technology from bio-Propanol to bio Propylene and bio n- Butanol and Iso butanol to n-butene and isobutylene.

bio EO and bio Glycols

Ethylene Oxide and Ethylene Glycols are important chemicals for variety of consumer, automobile, healthcare, textile and other industries. Petrons’s EO/MEG technology provides drop in sustainable products.

Petron offers most energy efficient Bio EO and Bio Ethylene Glycol technology with its Patented processes which offers very selective, efficient, and cost-effective solution.

Maleic Anhydride

Maleic anhydride (MA) is primarily used in the manufacture of unsaturated polyester resins (UPR), which are used in applications such as recreational boats, bathroom fixtures, automobiles, tanks, and pipes. Other outlets for MA include 1,4-butanediol (BDO), tetrahydrofuran (THF) and gamma-butyrolactone.
